Titled “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water”, the newest film follows Spongebob and friends as they attempt to reclaim a secret recipe stolen by a pirate from above the ocean’s surface. With their journey taking them from the ocean into the human world, the movie will combine the classic SpongeBob 2D animation style with a new CG and live action combination. The movie, which is set to release in theaters in February 2015, will be SpongeBob’s first return to theaters since the 2004 movie.
SpongeBob SquarePants, which began airing in July 1999, is an animated television series following the daily life and hijinks of SpongeBob SquarePants, a talking sponge, in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom.
